Elements of Photography

For this project we were task with capturing the 11 elements of photography with our iPads.

Lines

The yellow leading line directs your focus to the trash can at the end.

Line To Create Movement

This shows the motion of the water coming from the water spout.

Color

This incorporates color by showing all the colorful flower pot.

Distinguishing Shape

Even though there’s other things in the picture the circle of the clock draws you in.

Overlapping Shapes

The overlapping of the wooden squares creates a sense of depth.

Contrast Through Lighting

I use contrast through lighting because the two walls on either side are bright, but the middle gap is dark, showing emphasis there.

Contrast Through Color

You are drawn to the bright yellow compared to the dull colors around it.

Emphasis Through Framing

The tree branches create a frame for the student in the middle.

Emphasis Through Focus

The pencil is the focal point as the background is blurred to let the subject pop out.

Texture

In this photo you can see the rough texture of the stone path.

Space

This photo shows the vast space the hallway creates.
