Rules of Composition

In this project we were tasked with capturing the seven compositions rules with our iPads.

Rule of Thirds

This shows the rule of thirds because the tree is placed at the points of a 9-point grid where the rule of thirds take place

Formal Balance

This shows formal balance because the door is symmetrical.

Informal balance

This shows informal balance because the flag takes up most of the space on the left, but there isn’t anything on the right balancing it out.

Leading Lines

The crack in the cements acts as a line leading the viewers focus to the water bottle.

Viewpoint

This shows a upward viewpoint of the trees from down below.

Inclusion and Exclusion

The focal point is the global but due to the background your attention is not on the globe
I repositioned so that the globe was the clear focal point.

Experimentation

I tried to experiment with lights and long exposure by using a lighter to write the letter C.
