Shutter Speed

In this class project, we were tasked to capture the effects of different shutter speeds. Shutter speed affects how much light the camera takes in. The faster the speed, the less light, and the slower the speed, the more light. Depending on how fast or slow your shutter speed is can also affect how blurry or sharp your photos are.

I couldn’t get the exact subject for all five photos to be the same, but I replicated the position and idea in each one to demonstrate the effects of the shutter speed.

(1/10 shutter speed) Very blurry and very bright
(1/60 shutter speed) Slight blur and not as bright and first photo
(1/640 shutter speed) A very slight blur and not as overexposed as the first photo
(1/1000 shutter speed) Basically no blur and the photo is darker because less light is being let into the camera
(1/4000 shutter speed) No blur and the darkest photo of all five photos
