The Importance of ISO

In this project we were tasked with demonstrating the affects of ISO and how changing it can affect the photo’s quality. ISO is one of the most important settings to control your photos exposure. Depending on if you’re inside or outside and if it’s bright or dim you need to change your ISO to have the best exposure while still getting the sharpest photo you can.

The subject I chose for my seven indoor pictures was of a CD player. As you can see the lower the ISO the dimmer the photo. The higher the ISO the brighter the photo. You can also see that the higher the ISO the grainier the image gets.

I chose a red bear as my subject for my seven outdoor photos. The ISO affects the images the same as the indoor photos. ISO affects not only a photo’s brightness but also how much noise the photo has. The higher the ISO, the more noise/grain; the lower the ISO, the less noise/grain.
