Manual Mode Project

For this project, my peer’s and I were assigned a task that required us to work in the Manual Mode of our cameras. We were supposed to set our exposure for each picture in our series at -1, then 0, and finally +1 for each photo. We were supposed to have taken five series; one with low shutter speed, another high shutter speed. One low depth of field, another high depth of field. And the last one was our own creative design. Here are the results of my assignment.

This was my low shutter speed series. I took a photo from over head where the water was spewing out from in order to catch the flow of water and demonstrate the shutter speed while it was low.

This was my high shutter speed series where I pretty much captured the moving water as if it were frozen because of the high shutter speed. I stood on the left hand side of the pond and took a photo from an upper-left hand corner angle.

This was my low depth of field series. As you can see the background is blurred out and thus giving it low depth. I used the tree because I rarely see it green and healthy.

This was my high depth of field series. As you can see the wall in the background is not blurred and you can even see detail applied to it showing the depth in the background. I used this flower because I don’t really give this flower the appreciation it probably deserves.

This is my artistic series. I really only took a photo of the top of this flower because of how complex, beautiful, and mysterious it is. This flower only blooms once a year so I thought this was the perfect subject for this series.
